I`ve been playing Club Penguin for 3 years and I remember when I first joined, I was a little confused about how everything worked. So, I decided to write this short but detailed guide about the basics of Club Penguin. Hope this helps :)
Welcome to Club Penguin! Can you see the penguin with the light blue ring around it? That`s you!
To walk around, simply click an area on the screen and your penguin will waddle over there. If you click on the door to a room such as the Coffee Shop, Night Club etc. then you will walk into that room!
Every Friday the Club Penguin Team release a newspaper which tells you about upcoming events. It has jokes and riddles too! To access the newspaper, click the newspaper icon in the top left hand corner of your screen.
Next to the newspaper you have your mailbox (or at least that`s what I call it!) There you can send postcards to other penguins and you can read postcards that other penguins send you! To open your mailbox, click the envelope icon next to the newspaper.
You can chat by simply typing your message into the chat bar at the bottom of your screen and it will appear in a speech bubble above your penguin! If you`re on Ultimate Safe Chat then select a message from Club Penguin`s chat menu and you will say that instead.
If someone hurts your feelings or you see them hurting someone else's or someone uses bad language or you see them cheating with third party software then click them to open up their player card and click the M to report them to a moderator.
Those are all the basics of Club Penguin but there is much more to learn from exploring it yourself!
